Truth be told, I didn’t even realize that she was there. I wasn’t paying attention. I was harassing another goose and the sun. I was also trying to make sure that the zone didn’t catch the bee that she was chasing.
It is always fun when skittish strangers walk up and the zone chases after a bee in their direction. I mean, you know, because they think that she is coming after them and not something else. I guess that I cannot blame them. You see a sixty-five pound dog coming towards you at a rapid speed, you don’t think that maybe she is chasing that bee that just zoomed by your head. I try not laugh, it’s not always funny. I just had to shake my head and say outloud, “No. You cannot have the bee”. I’m sure that they didn’t believe me, but what can a girl do!?
The best part was as they stood there looking at the geese and all of a sudden, this madder than nothing goose bows up and starts hissing. Yes, once again the skittish people thought that she was hissing at them, but no. No, the zone had discovered that she was there. Provided there was a wall between them, it didn’t stop either one. I got a few dirty looks as the strangers walked away. What could I do? I just kept saying, “Stop ticking off the geese.”
The zone and geese. It is always an adventure. Sometimes it is a justifiable hate and sometimes they are just trying to be big and bad. This day, she kind of had a justifiable reason. I mean, again…there was a wall between her and the zone. It isn’t like the zone could really get to her. The goose on the other hand, definitely could have gotten zone’s nose if she had wanted too. Just the same, she protecting her nest.
As irritating as the geese were in the apartments, I do have to give them credit where credit is due. They definitely protect their own; especially, their babies. Even if you are another geese. If you are not part of the family, you are not allowed in. It’s almost like the mafia. Goose mafia? Why not.
Hope you enjoy the pictures. Have a beautiful day and tomorrow.
