This is Mr. Taylor Shannon, a musician from Ohio. I saw him Friday night when I made a spontaneous decision to go to a concert. This may not seem like a spontaneous decision type of thing, but it happened much like my decision to camp out in the Grand Tetons…I just didn’t have to drive as far.
I was sitting at home on Friday, procrastinating, and I was messing around on Facebook. One of the first things that I saw was that Mr. Keith Anderson would be in concert that night in Cincinnati. Depending on where in Cincinnati depends on how far the venue. In this case it was about 1 hr 51 mins (or at least that is what my GPS said). It is a big city and there are a lot of one way roads and “you can’t park here” or “can’t drive this way” so it took me more like 2 hours and 10 minutes. Anyway, I didn’t hesitate to go. Don’t know why. It just seemed like the right thing to do at the time.
So, I get there to this Ludlow Garage. They apparently do live music there a lot. It’s a quaint little thing. Two stories. bar and dining area upstairs and the live music stage with seating downstairs. Apparently, a lot of history and I think may have just reopened. I’d be lying if I said I was paying too much attention. Nothing that I probably should be, well, it was a serious after thought. Anyway, this gentleman Taylor Shannon, opened for Keith Anderson. However, I think it is more like a “went on before”. This wasn’t really a concert type of thing. More like a showcase show type thing. I’m not sure. I just know that it was a little different than a regular concert and I don’t really know how to explain it. Anyway, he went on first and he was pretty good. I have no complaints.
He did some of his own songs and some covers. I am not going to write a critique, but I will say that he did right by the covers and I’m kind of a music snob when it comes to covers, so….there’s that. If you have a minute, you should check him out on youtube. I recommend his songs, ‘Easy’ and ‘September’.
I’ve gotten distracted and lost my train of thought. There have been some very little things that came about over the last couple of days that make this photographer very happy and I’m a little giddy right now thinking about the possible implications. Of course, I’m trying not to make too much out of it, but it is fun to think that this is a positive sign.
For now, I bid you adieu. Have a beautiful day and tomorrow.
